This tiny, two-hour old foot belongs to the daughter of one of my very best friends, Julie. I had the honor of serving as her doula and watching her beautiful baby girl come into the world.

A memorial
Two years ago in the early am hours of this day and the late night hours of the previous, our town suffered several losses. Some tragic losses that won't soon be forgotten, nor should they be. My thoughts and prayers are still with all the families and friends on what I know has to be a very hard day. Gone, but not forgotten. RIP.

Watchful Santa
This Santa was part of the festivities at a recent party. Young and old alike waited in line for a chance to talk to the jolly old elf. Everyone received a gift and candy and promises of a Merry Christmas.

Bad hair day
I chopped off all my hair the other day...well not quite all of it, but it is a different look for me being as short as it is now. Then there is this guy who could stand some chopping to get this wig under control!! I love how people can lose themselves in a moment and just be crazy funny. :)

High bar on wheels
It's one of Moscow's claims to fame, a gymnast on the high bar. What makes this so special? Well, the high bar is mounted to a semi truck which is in motion driving down the road. They have had this feature for a few years now in our parades. It is an entry from Palouse Empire Gymnastics and is a definite crowd pleaser. This young lady did about 3 minutes of spinning and stunts as the truck moved along the parade route before taking a break to go again. It is an awesome sight.

Mmmmmm...Mexican food!
My favorite kind of food is Mexican! Having grown up in Arizona, I guess it's pretty natural. Here in northern Idaho, there isn't much in the way of authentic Mexican food...but wait...there's Patty's! Patty's Mexican Kitchen sits right off 6th Street and Deakin and has grown from a tiny shop with no seating into an extended outdoor seating area complete with lawn and bbq pit, as well as the miniature Patty Dome with indoor seating and a bar...very handy this time of year.
The food is the best around. Really. Normally I would have snapped a shot of Trini behind the grill, but I was there to pick her up for Girl's Night Out and take her to dinner elsewhere...she gets tired of Mexican food since she cooks it all day, everyday. Imagine that! Billy is in the photo above and said to say "Hello!" to all my blog readers. :)

Colorful with a message
Another of the parade participants, this time the Gay Straight Alliance at U of I made their presence known. I loved their colorful banner and they were smiling, waving, and carrying signs with various messages for acceptance and pride. I was unsure what a Gay Straight Alliance was, but curious enough to Google it, and found that the GSA educates against discrimination based on sexual orientation as well as supporting equality in human rights and preserving dignity.

Bears Homecoming
Is there anything more American than a Friday night high school football game? Last night was the Moscow Bears Homecoming game and the stands were packed to see the Bears defeat the Lakeland Hawks 41-21. They scored several times on punt returns and their passing game just couldn't be stopped. It was a fun night and I am glad we have a reason to attend the games this year. I really enjoy them!

It starts with bubbles
I will start this blog with a picture of my beautiful daughter. This is the photo that really started my obsession for capturing interesting moments although I have always loved photography. I just love the composition of this one and consider it one of my finest captures.
